Final Update:

Bike Tested on the Road, Votage Steady at 14.5 Volts with Headlight on, Bike Running Well, This confirms (To me at least that the problem was the battery) My Supplier has also accepted this and I am waiting for him to replace the battery

Regards

Sure sounds like the battery had some plates that were shorted out in a cell. Glad it was a sort of easy fix.

Anybody know what the cold cranking amps is need to start the savage 650ls.  I charged my battery in the beginning of the season, but have been encountering problems of getting it to kick over, early mornings, with the dew, and when it's been rained on, covered or not.
