Hey Praetorian,

Is that a kerosene heater you have your carb on and battery next to? I hope it is not lit.

Greg,
I am sorry I made it too complicated for You. Let's put it this way - with or without vent hoses, with the vent hoses going up or going down- it is the same.
About the "gas tank being sucked in"- it is good that we have the same opinion .
About the misspelling- I'll be more careful not to bring confusion in somebody's mind. Thx for the reminder.

You were kidding weren't you?  If not, show me a picture that proves me wrong.

Geez.  If you need entertainment watch the cartoon network.

Hey Jim,

When we moved here, we had a kerosene heater just like that one.  Then after a year or so, it seemed that the fuel for it wasn't really available in this "environmentally" paranoid place, called Portland.  So not wanting the "air pollution police" to get me, I got rid of it.  Since then I've put up with the cold in the garage without it

That is exactly the way that I baked the enamel paint on my engine.  Gets it good an hot Smiley

PS- I did the heads and side covers in the oven though Smiley

Yes it is a kerosene heater and no it is not lit.  When I bought the bike to restore, I knew I would need the garage warmed for me to be out there for long at a time.  Problem (???) is that here in coastal NC it has been a VERY warm winter.  I have only needed to turn the heater on a few times this winter.  Most of the tme the heater is nothing more than a work surface.
