A good wrenching day today

Got my #55 pilot jet and new front brake pads from Dennis Kirk today.

Pilot jet installed without a hitch, I did notice that it is the bleed type whereas the OEM pilot was not.  Don't guess that makes a difference...

Front brakes were a piece of cake to swap out.  I went with the SBS pads.  They are as quiet as can be as opposed to the OEM pads.  The old pads had just about ran their course, so it was time to change them.  I guess 6400 miles is decent for the original pads.

I think I just about have the carb dialed in, maybe a tweak here or there.  I'm right at about 1 3/4 turns out on the pilot, and it seems to be doing OK with no backfires so we'll see how that does over time.  May have to tinker a bit more if it doesn't cut it out all the way.

So, all in all, it was a good wrenching day today!

Good job, sounds like your having fun! Smiley

on the carb - yes when you get it that close it's like 1/16 turns from there - and you might want to tweak the idle speed ever so slight as well

on the brakes - I see a lot of questions lately on them - now that you've done it once - think about the 2nd or 3rd time - takes maybe 5 minutes - maybe - me I don't run a set of pads very far couple thousand miles or some noise and they go in the trash - just too cheap and too easy to change to do otherwise.

Ditto on the Idle adjust. I had to run mine up a little too.
