Petc0ck failure at 2,509 miles

Well, my petcaulk doesn't work in the down position. Runs for about 20 seconds & dies. Runs in PRI. I didn't think to try reserve. Happened during a test ride right after rebuilding my carb which made it fun to troubleshoot. ??? Anyway, I'll drain the tank & pull it off when the engine cools & hopefully fix it tomorrow.

did you check to make sure the vacuum line is still hooked up to the carb properly?
if it isn't, it won't pull the gas in the 'on' or 'reserve' position.
If the vacuum line comes off, the bike will run in PRI position, because it's basically just feeding the carb with gravity (no vacuum required)

Just to clarify, it sounds like you forgot to reconnect the hose label 'petc0ck vacuum hose'.
it's a hose that runs from the petc0ck on the left side, across the bike, and connects to the port on the right side of the carb (shown below). usually regular piece of hose encased in a spring-like shielding

Yep, that was it!
Thanks realdeal. Funny, but I've had that carb off several times & always hooked it up right. This time I wasn't paying attention. Next time I'll disengage "dingbat mode" before I work on the bike.

Dingbat mode?
Disconnect the fuelhose from the petc0ck and the vacuumhose from the carburator, always works.

Never ask your bike to scream before her throat is warm.
