Cracked dryrot plug wire

The plug wire on my 87 is in pretty sad shape, cracks and crumbles. I would like to replace it. Is the wire removable from the coil? It looks like its permanently attached. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas to all

I had same prob...
With a little patience you can remove the rubber and expose the "prong" so that you can attach a new plug lead.
Then remember to seal it well....i used silicon sealant.
