$3200 in December 03 for a silver '02 with 1800 miles on it. Came with saddle bags and a windshield, been running the $hit out of it since with no problems.

I got mine for a great price: a 2000 Savage, with only 7,415 kms. on it, in great shape for $2899.00 Canadian.
I have since ordered saddle bags, a windshield, and an engine guard. I also am waiting to receive a maintenance manual too.
I'm actually the 4th owner of this bike, but I intend on being the last owner of this bike. I love it, and plan to keep it as long as I can.
I'd seen other Savages advertized, but they were newer and more expensive.

Also being of the grey haired loon variety, I've often wondered..is the fire smoldering or mouldering??
Thank heavens this Oct is over..rain almost every day.
My slipstreamer windshield cost @160.00 ..addding up slowly..looking to change to solo seat and "luggage rack"

I just found this forum, GREAT PLACE! Just bought my S40 (2005), used from a private owner on 11-04-05. Bike had been purchased for former owners wife, but she dropped it and refused to give it another try. Small dent in tank, some scratches on mirror, pegs, headlight and brake lever. Has 2600 miles, saddle bags, visors and no keys for fork lock. I really like everything about the bike with the exception of the "sewing machine" sound. I paid $2900.

There are also a few aftermarket exhaust upgrades that will improve that sound but most, if not all of them, will make it significantly louder too. I love the sound of my MAC muffler but I wish it was maybe 25% quieter than it is.

Bought my '96 in 2002 with 3K miles for $2500. Wasn't even broken in, not a scratch on it(I cured that). Would gladly do it again. One of the best bikes I've owned!

"Discovered" the Savage last winter and bought mine on ebay in the spring. It's a 2000 that had 28 miles on it...short story is the owner had an accident first day she had the bike home from the dealer and bent the forks...bike sat around for 4 years, then a guy bought the bike as salvage, replaced the forks w/used ones, and sold it on ebay. I got it for $1900 and I've never been happier w/a bike or a deal!
ps- there sure are a lot of good ebay deals on Savages on ebay right now!
