Belt replacement

Since I had it apart did the rear brakes - looks like the oem suzuki may be a better part than the new EBC's - the base metal of the shoe is cast aluminum - might run cooler and certainly much lighter than the ebc'c we'll see - anyway a few months ago i picked up a used drive belt with 1200 miles on it for like $60 - glad i did - the 22k belt on the'95 looked good but once i took it off and would bend it the rubber is cracked in most every grove - would it have gone more miles? - for sure but decided not to wait for it to fail - had a rock punch through here -

I think that's about right - ebay is a wonder for such things - seems they part out some real low mileage bikes at times

great place to sell chopped machines, as in stolen and chopped that is.  no regulations, no id check. just steal chop then sell on e bay.   Angry

I'd bet we're pretty safe on the savages -just doesn't take much to total one out - fold the fork back, road rash the tank, and a dealer's labor and parts retail  would likely total a savage. Now a late model hybusa engine for sale might be different story.

That is a great pic of the belt.  Good enough for the archives.
