Gel seat mod

Ok I got sick of havin a numb butt and after raising the seat I wasnt really satisified.  So I decided to buy a 9.99 bicycle gel seat cover by Bell from Wal-Mart and get some black vinyl from a craft shop and make my own.

I got the cover off and used an exacto knife and cut out a shallow triangle to place the gel cover in.

I then used some duct tape to secure it and make it flush to the other foam.  Then we applied some super glue to help keep the vinyl stay down.  My fiance' then helped me cover it with the vinyl and staple it in place and Wah Lah!

I have only rode a few miles on it but it feels good.  I thought it would be a little cushy but since I pressed down on the gel and taped it with duct tape it is very strudy and only gives a little.  The real test will be when I drive 30 + miles but I am sure it will be better than what it was.  ok Tally.  $9.99 gel cover. $2.00, yes 2.00 for 36 in by 54 in of vinyl (50% off), 2 super glues tubes .99 and a bunch of staples.  Vinyl is very hard to work with and if it wasnt for my patient fiance' I would have gone crazy with the wrinkles.  Hope u enjoy.
