blasfemy!  Tongue ehm... I wouldn't know, you'll have to try that. You don't have to look at the old GS750 and GSX750 gastanks, I already tried those and they won't fit... maybe just try something weird like a R1 tank or so? Anything that is cheap is good, don't you think so?

You got that right - and it's not that I don't like the cruiser style, I do, it's just time for a change...I'm big and don't really fit my savage so I'm changing it into a cafe racer type of thing....trouble is i'm a wee scared about making PERMANENT changes in case they don't work out.

I don't mind the teardrop at all but I wouldn't mind more capacity either.

I think you should just try... there's no crying over spilt milk. And nobody ever made something really beautifull without making mistakes to get that far...

@Rob: the small fuel-capacity is annoying, isn't it  Lips Sealed Undecided

Harley peanut would be beautiful but with the prices they fetch I might as well buy myself a second Savage...
Kawa VN500 ... the tank looks mighty nice and if it IS 15 litres it's exactly what I need  Grin

Now I have to find one on eBay... addicted to it, will have to find a shrink and have him talk my way out of it... Tongue

By the way, Michiel, is the Vulcan tank a straight swap (replacement) or do I have to go through all sorts of contorsionism to make it fit?
I'm too old to file my fingers and grind my knuckles, I need a straight job.

And still I wonder whether any of you would pronounce my name correctly  Grin

I'm not sure about the tank, because I only heard it from other guys. A guy on the dutch motorforum said it was a direct fit, but I don't know it from hands-on-experiene, you should have to try it yourself òr post a question on www.motor-forum.nl in the "choppers" category (do I spell it correctly?). I think someone there must know... Good luck!

Michiel, I believe your name is pronounced Mi-khiel
possibly the surname is Pil-hen-rhod.

A round of Orangebitter if I got it right. 8)

Here's a thought ... a college with a sheetmetal shop and sheetmetal apprentices-in-training could likely make you a custom tank ... possibly free, since they are learning and might be interesed in taking on the project ... you could likely get a wild tank (always wondered what a chopper-style "coffin" tank would look like on the LS?), with a greater capacity, that would be a straight bolt-on! Hey, those sheetmetal students learn how to fabricate with stainless steel as well ... hmmm a stainless steel tank on a Savage ... now that's interesting too!
