Ignitor Hook Up
05/17/05 at 21:48:44

I need some help to get a 96 Savage going again. The Ignitor module and ignitor connector were missing from the bike. I found a 32900-24B10 Ignitor that is suppose to fit this model. Ignitor module has 8 pins( 2 rows of 4 each). I have 6 wires where the connector was cut off. The colors are, Black, Orange, Green, Orange/White tracer, Black/Yellow tracer, Black/White tracer. I need to match these wires to the correct ignitor pins. Anyone know how these hook up or where I may find this information? Any help appreciated.
I have a wiring diagram that shows the six wires but does not identify the pins

May be it will be a good idea to place this picture in the technical corner.
And by the way GOOD TO HAVE THE SITE UP again.

Kropatchek-Thanks for your response. The ignitor pin out shown in your post is for an older bike. My 88 Savage has this type on it. The 96 has a different ignitor. The information I need is for the later ignitor with 8 pins.

Gazab44-thanks for your response. Its beginning to look as if I have a weird ignition module. It was sold to fit a 96 Savage and has part number 32900-24B10 on it,but has a 8 pin connection that is offset to the left. Found an ignitor on parts list that looks like the one I have, but it has part number 32900-24B30 and fits a 96 K4 whatever that is. Guess I need to find the right ignitor for this bike, one that will fit the connector that you and Kropatchek described. Maybe I can use this one for a paper weight. Thanks to all for your time and help.

I noticed a 32900-24B10 on sale on eBay a week or so ago and, since I was have some electrical trouble, checked my part number just in case.  My '98 has a 32900-24B11 module.  The microfiche on RonAyers.com shows the 32900-24B10 as a discontinued version replaced by the 32900-24B11.  It also shows the same modules for both the '96 and the '98 Savages.  The 32900-24B30 fits the 2004 model (LS650 K4) - not the '96.  The '96 is the LS650PT.  I don't know if the parts are interchangeable or not.
