Handlebar Question
05/12/05 at 17:56:18

I just bought an 87 Savage as my first bike and we've been getting along just fine until I decided to switch from the straight bars to the pullback bars.

I changed the throttle and clutch cables, but the local Suzuki dealership said that the same Hydraulic Brake cable works for both.

Does anyone know if this is true?  It seems like the cable has to be pretty well stretched to reach the new bar.

Thanks.

Try it. If it doesn't work, use a Russel or Goodridge braided stainless unit that is 4 inches longer than stock. When you measure it, go to the bike shop and measure the two end bano bolt fitting, subtract that from the needed length, and get a hose 1/2 inch longer than the new (shortened) measurement.

Yes I can recomend Goodridge it firms up the lever, enough for me to go to the next size smaller master cylinder.
