If you listen to Christian music in your old age like I do, Mark Farner (yes, the same one) and John  Elefonte (Kansas) have been in that market for a few years now.  Sure beats the old stodgy stuff we had to put up with growing up.

I agree with WD, the Highlander soundtrack rocked.  The "It's a Kind of Magic" album, also had some Iron Eagle movie music on it as well.

Well, I would not denigrate Queen but I wouldn't say they were the best either.  I know, it's all personal preference and my tastes are pretty varied but I think Rush and Jethro Tull are at the top with a whole lot following them on my list of greats.  And yeah Tarheel, that album was almost the Highlander soundtrack if it hadn't been for the inclusion of One Vision.

LOL!  I was thinking the same as I read through the replies.  I was surprised how log it took for a "who is that" to pop up.  Of course now we have a general age range for all of us who DO know.  My two cents..... all who think Jimi was the best guitarist must have never spent much time listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Not really trying to show my stupidity, but the only name I recognized is Stevie Ray Vaughan, & only because he was a Texan. My kids say if they've never played with Willie Nelson, I don't know them, I think they must be right. Country & happy about it.
As to where I'm from, born in Minnesota to a "Canadian Wetback" & his sweet little war bride. Dad was born in Lang, Saskatchewan, & after the war we settled in Texas. He didn't actually get "legal" until I did the paperwork in the "70's. I've been here so long, I think I'm a Texan. Raised in River Oaks, TX & have lived in Weatherford for 37 years now. When my hubby gets ticked with me he calls me a Da-n Yankee.

Yeah I think you have to at least be from The South to have heard of Stevie.  He played what I guess you would call "electric rock blues".  Died in a helicopter crash with some of Eric Clapton's crew.

Was that the River Oaks suburb of Houston?

Tell him you may not have been born here but you got here as fast as you could.

BTW...... Did you and your daughter take the MSF class yet?  If so, how did it go?  And how goes your search for the perfect carrier for your meds?

AMEN!  I love Meatloaf...flat out.  I'd consider being a groupie if I weren't married...and old...oh well Undecided  I enjoyed the concert last year, and you're right, the age range spanned the gamut.

ZZ Top is coming to Maine in August.  And I adore Queen.

Yes, I know it's only half a word, & I did get here as soon as I could. Mother rode troop trains and I was passed from soldier to soldier on the trip. Still goofy for a man in uniform!
Diane, my River Oaks is a suburb of Fort Worth, the Castleberry School District. Our mail went to Fort Worth but River Oaks is a full fledged city. (76114Zip)
Yes I did solve the problem of where to put my stuff, thanks to all of you all. Hubby put my saddlebags on and I dump my purse in there & take off. Have to stop to do the meds anyway, so it works. Thanks for asking.
