This is my neighbors "project bike".  He's big into 2 stroke street bikes, of which he has several quality examples.  This not being one of them.  This.....thing....is the product of a Ford Courier truck bed and motor, and some 70's 2 stroke street bike.  American Chopper's ain't got nothin' on this baby.  Oh, and it actually runs and drives.  This was taken through a binocular.

That would definitely allow me to haul 4x8 sheets of plywood on the bike.....

He drives it around his property.  I've never actually seen it on the rode.  I'm assuming it can't be registered.  I mean, imagine how dangerous it would be to drive.  It's supporting the weight of a truck front end, on a little bike tire.  He cruises around his yard in it.  It's hard to imagine that he actually has some real fine specimens in his workshop.  I had never actually seen a 2 stroke Kawasaki street bike till he showed me.  He has 2-3 completely clean bikes.  They sound like dirt bikes, but run like a scalded ape.  All I know is that they are 350cc, and have little bitty exhaust pipes.  They are some of the neatest looking bikes in the area.  A lot like the Savage-----unique.

So that's for real?   I thought you took a picture of a bike and homemade trailer that kind of just lined up just right for a picture.

Two stroke bikes were the streetfighters of the 70's.  I had a 73 Yamaha RD350 with expansion chambers and it screamed at almost dead stock.  I replaced the front drive gear and lost about 10 mph top end and got it back in spades at the bottom.   There was a reason they called them the pocket-rockets.

RD were RingDings.  They sounded like this as they passed you: RingDingdingdingdingdingdingding...

My brother had a 74 Honda CB350. He borrowed my RingDing for a loop and I heard him open it up on a straightaway around the corner.  He came right back all whitefaced and mad. I remember it now, "That's thing's insane!  It's got too much power! The front wheel left the ground! You're crazy! Why do you ride a bike like that? That's not safe!!"

In our family scheme of things, he was always the athelete, first string football player at a Div1 school, conference HW wrestling champ, 2 years.  I was always more artistic and kind of a pre-slacker bohemian/head.  I think he saw me in a different light after he found out what his big brother rode...   Grin

Git, worst street race stomping in my life was my 73 CB350F vs a Kawi Mean Green 2 stroke. I was barely in third, he was two blocks ahead and disappearing fast... That old Honda couldn't have caught that RD if I had been shot out of a howitzer.

And that truck/bike hybrid is neat. I want one...

One of his 2 stroke is a bright Kawa Green, with a racing slick on it.  The other one I've seen him cruise the streets with is a fire engine red.  I'd love to get a chance to ride on of them.  I keep hinting, but I don't blame him for saying no.  He was telling me that he pulled up next to a Ninja 500, and the dude just laughed.  He wasn't laughing when the light turned green.  I know they smoke a lot.  It looks like he's spraying for mosquitos when he gets on it.

the 350, 500,750's were some wild machines, kids today have no clue.

i do admit though that the 750 an 500's were straight line machines and major chain stretcher, whereas todays sport bikes corner really well.

80 mph, second gear, on one wheel (rear hopefully).
i loved it.
