There's not really any more chrome than on a stock bike.

What are you? Anti-Chromite?

You mean, am I being "anti-chromatic"?

chrome  it's a balance.  the chrome fenders really set of my little bobber. but i did strip off all the "chromed plastic" stuff.

i think the guy should have spent more time grinding the welds before he went with such a light color, the crappy welding really stands out.

That's the good thing about a "rust" finish.  You won't see the welds... 8)

I am beginning to agree with DangMan... the Savage seems to be endlessly adaptable.

I think the best mod you can do to any bike is to ride it until the odometer croaks... Grin And then keep going...

8)Wow, those'er cool Savages! That powder-blue job has a nice, Classic Brit Bike look to her! ... and to think that the Savage hasn't been recognized in the Custom Bike world ... well those guys just haven't seen the creative work done by some LS650 owners!

The only reason the Savage isn't accepted in the custom realm is heritage. The "outlaw scene" was Big Twin HD/Indian, with British bikes on a case by case basis. The current custom culture grew out ofthe outlaw scene. Hence, Japanese bikes are still "not acceptable (and in most shows, not allowed)". There are gorgeous non-HD bikes out there, but until the show scene comes out of the clouds and realizes that talent is talent, and a bike is a bike, we just have to bide our time. The Savage's day will come. Remember when EVOs were considered beneath contempt? I do. Now almost every custom on the major league scene is EVO based. The pendulum is headed our way.

And for Greg, my philosophy is "A dirty bike is a ridden bike is a well loved bike".  Also firmly believe " If you didn't ride her first, she'll never be yours. BUILD YOUR OWN BIKE!"  Grin 8) Grin

Ah, but a dirty bike can also become a rusty bike.  Besides, sometimes you just gotta clean her up before you ride her again  Roll Eyes
