Was reading this thread and decided on using this method, with the 1" steel spacers from ACE hardware. The tank to seat line is WAY better.
I still have to make up some kind of rubber "filler here, between the frame and the stock rubber bumpers

made my own 1 and 1/2" spacers by cutting an old rubber mallet I was going to toss into quarters.

good deal. i did #8 stoppers (they were out of #7) and m6x50 bolts. feels a lot better for me.
