Do you happen to know the origin of the tank?
I really like the cafe racer style, and am slowly taking my bike in that direction.  I am still working on the mechanicals, the surface pieces will be next.

Sorry, but no. I don't even remember where I got the picture from. Just thought it was an awesome idea. More than likely, the guys at 650motorcycles.com might be able to give you some info (and that's probably where I found the pic). It's a Yamaha XS650 dedicated site. If there are any real bike enthusiast out there  Wink  the site has some awesome modifications and restoration photos (mostly of the Yamaha, but a few others, like a Savage or two)

Wow, that Cafe sure is one of the most unique LS650 based mods I've seen! Never ceases to amaze me how versatile the Savage is as a canvas for the creative!

I love cafe's too.  I used ride a Yam RD350 the I cafe'd out to a small degree (you didn't have to do much with that one anyway).

I didn't realize how much I loved the Cafe' look until I drooled over those three sites. Man, those bikes leave me speechless. I love motorcycles----period. The Cafe' is definitely my favorite. Thanks for posting those links!!!! I'll never have a girlfriend, too many bikes to buy and tinker with.  Wink

That's right.

Maybe this can help him increase his odds of finding one:

Tip #1: Never tell a girl that you're a four-stroke guy.

Tip #2: Never tell a girl that your exhaust isn't the "straight" kind.

Tip #3: Never tell a girl that you get gas quite often.

Tip #4: Never tell a girl that you have a 75 inch belt.

Tip #5: Never tell a girl that you have a problem with excessive back-firing out your tailpipe...

Check this site out.  The Street Retro Bikers Club of Hong Kong.  These dudes know what a good Cafe/Street bike looks like.  There's some real drooling material here.  Set your browser's encoding to Chinese Traditional(Big5) and the page will look much better.

8)Wow, those're some cool Cafe's! Here's a couple of shots of one of the "purdiest" Bikes on the planet (and one of my faves), Honda's GB500 "thumper" ... with the resurging interest in Cafe's, Honda shpuld seriously consider re-introducing this model to North America (last sold in the U.S, in 1990).

Mark cannot respond due to a coma induced by looking at too many cool motorcycles. He is also seeing a professional about a new addiction that has afflicted many who surf the 'net. Pormograhpy or Porm for short

He is expected to recover soon.

Here's a couple of pic's of mine. I have to agree that a GB500 is one of the best. Someday one will grace my garage. That Savage pic gives me some great ideas too. I may have to get one for myself or talk my wife out of hers

That's nice.   Those little CB400F's were giant killers.
