A newbie with a little experience
11/30/04 at 02:35:20

Hi, I’m Ruud.

I live in the Netherlands near Rotterdam. I bought a Savage back in 1990 and I’m still riding it. It’s a black 1987-er Savage and I use it for riding, not polishing. In Holland is a Dutch Savage club  (www.suzukisavageclub.nl) where I’m also active. I’ve had several other motorcycles before I bought my Savage. When I bought my Savage I was looking for a cheap and usable bike. My wife told me about the Savage and she liked it very much. So we bought ourselves a Savage, probably imported from Canada. It was black (do they really sell other colours?).

I’ll look up some old photos to post them here.

P.S. English is not my native language, so I hope you'll forgive me the bad spelling. I'm trying to make my texts readable.

Hi Ruud,

Welcome to the group, and your English is very good too.

Do you know a guy named Bart, in the Savage club?  He rides a modified orange Savage.

Hi Kropatchek,

Nice to meet you here again.
The Dutch forum is a bit too quiet for me....  Lips Sealed

@Greg_650:

Rudd, Welcome! We are happy to have you.

Your English is great and it is definitely better than my Dutch.  I speak French pretty well and a little of several other languages (Italian, Spanish, Arabic and Russian) but no Dutch. Not yet anyway... I love languages.

And yes there are other colors than black. See Savage Colors By Year   Wink

He is just a nice friendly guy that I met online with a custom Savage (orange).  I don't think that he ever told me his last name.  We exchanged pictures.  I visited their web site a few times.  Maybe I should contact him and get him to visit here.

Hi Greg_650

There was a Bart active at the Suzukisavageclub forum until dec 2003. Ik think you mean that Bart.

Now I want to try to post a picture:
My Savage is the first (black, of course) one in this picture:

This photo was taken at a tour with the Savage club around Zoetermeer.

I found Bart's email address.  His last name is Blom.  I sent him an email.
