Someone just posted on Bert's site that they put in a oversized piston.  See http://www.heise-workstations.de/ls650/Fragen/messages/38791.html

Stated it could be found on bikebandit.com

I am impressed.  Not only the piston, but also the exhaust port grinding.  Did a thorough job.

My basement is sure to be covered in parts this winter now.

That is actually an aftermarket piston for a GSX 1100, but the valve clearance was what I was looking at...

Yep.  Someone has done all the things that we have discussed, I think.  Need to ask him how it runs...

I'm sorry but that looks like a piston for a two valve engine not a four valver.

darn, you're right.  I might as well delete that picture unless Wiseco also has an optional 2 valve head to go with it Shocked

Now who is going to post the before and after dyno sheets for removing the exhaust port restriction and then again for putting in the 97mm piston.

Is that a necessary requirement?  However, if I do this work, I'm sure to give my before and after opinions of the effect of such work.

There are other reasons that some people do this kind of work and the biggest one is "Because I can"  Roll Eyes

Not a requirement but it definitely is nice to have.  Any good dyno will also have an exhaust gas analyzer to let you know exactly what you need to do for tuning as well (to get the most out of your engine).
