You know, oddly enough, that bike ,sans motor, really resembles the Suzuki gs250t I had a few years back. Even though it was a 250, the powerplant looked bigger than the one in my Savage. I had a guy at the tire store ask me if my bike was a freakin' 125cc. He insisted I was full of it, when I told him it was a 650. I had to show him the tags on the bike to prove it.
Yep. I appreciate that too. There is another guy in Be_Savage doing the same BSA/Savage job like shown above. But I don't know his progress. With a shorter rake the Savage engine would be even more at home in the mountains. I say go fo it. Your bike is what you want to make of it, and I'll enjoy seeing how it goes.
Now, I understand what you meant....myself with a chopper? I've ridden them and they are plenty cool rolling down the interstate. But really what I'm creating is a Rat bike. Light weight, higher power, low on the chrome and lean....and to get the most out of less.
By the way, a guy with a Buell thought mine was a 250, so I know what you mean. Most people are not aware of anything above that size in a single...unless it is an Enfield of course.
BTW - thanks for the compliment. I've shaved a few pounds off the bike and squeezed out a couple more HP, but it is only a start. I still have next winter to tinker with it again....
