Lisa is home.

Doing fine. Brought her home around 5 or 6 this evening. Will take some time, but, 100% recovery is likely. Bought her a set of semi-hard saddlebags this afternoon. Late b-day/early anniversary/glad you are okay gift. Like she needed incentive to get better... Roll Eyes

Rob can't work right now, but is healing nicely. I'm taking him to my old shop tomorrow or Friday to get what he needs to fix the Savage. His car actually gets better mileage than the bike, but, needs more expensive work to put on the road safely. English car brakes aren't very good. Sorry Gazab44, but, it's true.

Titled the XT550 this afternoon. Picking up a battery in the next day or 2. Hopefully can get it running, just need to clean the carb now and put some fresh high test in it (11 to 1 compression ratio, yikes). I hope I can get 50+ mpg out of it when it's back in service.

Lisa wants me to buy the bike we checked out Saturday night. Lowrider, solo seat w/luggage rack, custom fenders w/1939 Ford blue dot teardrop taillight, floor boards, all black or chrome (yuck, I hate chrome), Drag Specialties speedo/tach/oil temp gauges. Needs apehangers something fierce, the beach bars are hideous.Too bad it's a 1999 Honda Shadow ACE 750... Lips Sealed. I hate Hondas almost as much as I hate chrome. But she wants her Intruder back, NOW!  Grin

Can buy 100, 104, 107 octane gas a couple blocks from one of the bike shops. No biggie. 1982, it had a nice civilized 10 to 1 ratio...1983, 11 to 1, stock out of the box.

She's scared I'll rewreck my back kicking a high compression motor. It has a functional compression release, drops it down to a nice wimpy 8 or 9 to 1 for starting.

I can't win. Definitely a sign that she's going to be fine.

Anywhere close around here seems like it's by the drum for good stuff, you know I don't remember ever hurting my back on a kickstart - but the leg is another story - nice kick back or wet foot slips off - ouch.
