Dyna muffler removal how to?
08/20/14 at 13:44:10

I picked up a full stock exhaust from a 2003 Dyna I found on Craigslist yesterday.

Does anyone have any tips on the easiest way to remove the Dyna mufflers from their header pipes?  All clamps are already off.

Thanks,

I had to use a small squirt of PB break loose spray.

No amount of elbow grease seemed to be working at all.  With the help of SeaFoam DeepCreep I got one off, still working on the second.

Sometimes it helps to take a large flat blade screwdriver, and try to pry the  muffler up a little bit where it slides over the header.  There are slots that allow the muffler to squeeze onto the header....put the screwdriver in those slots and try to open them up just a tad.

AND.... once you get it loose you can follow the great advice in the Tech Section on how to squeeze it down so it won't leak. btdtgtts  Smiley

The one that I was able to get off is already on my 2002 Savage.  If I can get the other one off it'll go up in the marketplace.
