On the other hand, I'll always associate the word "savage" as it was used by homosexual characters decades ago, to describe unrestrained and excessive sexual activity, so much so that one friend back then adopted, the single word, pronounced with an extreme lisp, as an over the top gay joke.
And, there was that long running column "Savage Love", written by Dan Savage, the gay activist.

Of course, "boulevard" is of french origin, and therefore also a little suspect for those with easily disturbed gender identies.
The Japanese don't seem particularly adept at picking marketing brand names that work well in the English language. I think it could be a LOT worse than either of those names:
