New member owner introduction
10/26/24 at 10:09:49

Hi y’all from North Texas (DFW). New Savage owner here. Long time fan of the Savage and thumpers in general. Fell in love with the Ryca CS-1 kit when it came out years ago. Sadly when I finally got the $ to take on the custom project (purchase kit, buy used bike in good shape) they had stopped production of the kit. I have a couple older thumpers, twins, and a new Z900RS Café, so I keep plenty busy. Just refurbished and sold an ‘81 XT500 that was fun. Anyway, a low mileage older 2000 custom Savage with parts of the Ryca kit and some tasty custom bits came up for sale and was a screaming deal, so I jumped on it.  Grin
I’ll try to get some pics uploaded.

Thanks! Out here in North Texas DFW area.
Yeah it’s just a quick trip, around town bike now. Got some other rides for the long distance stuff. Still need an errand running ride with storage. Used to have one with a trunk that I could carry my briefcase to work in. Smiley

Thanks. Yeah, Jimmy put quite a few personal touches on it. He clearanced that panel to make access much easier.

I agree. They are part of the Ryca CS-1 kit and I think gives a much more classic look. Sadly the components Ryca provided were of pretty low quality, so I will be replacing them soon. The tach has stopped working and the speedo is 10% slow.

The stock Savage tank was modified by the builder, and he milled the little dash with the blinker lights.
