WTB Front break assembly

Hoping someone on here has a decent condition master cylinder, break caliper and rotor for sale. Mine gets tighter and tighter until I have to bleed it to release the pressure. I replaced the piston assembly in the master cylinder and replaced the break line and the pads and still the same issue.

Sounds like the piston and seal in the caliper is sticking.

I bought a rebuild kit for the caliper and it came with some rubber ring seals. But I’ve never torn into a caliper. Does it involve special tools? I’ll just google it lol

If you can push the piston out using the brake lever and pressure from the master cylinder, that will make life easier.  I’m not sure what tool you would remove the piston if you can’t use fluid pressure to push it out.  There has to be a way, but that’s the only way I’ve ever done it.

A c-clamp and old brake pad can be used to manually press in the new piston.

So I did what you said, worked great, removed old seals, and new ones don’t fit. Everything else in the rebuild kit fit fine but the seals were too small and it came with 2 sets (for double piston caliper I’m assuming?)

Do later model year savages have different calipers? Mine is a 1998.

And is it appropriate to ask this here or should I start a new thread in “rubber side down”?

Were they after market or oem kit?

All years should be the same but there can be updates. Check the p/n for your year vs the latest year. If the last two digits change then there’s an update.
