Kawasaki 25T front pulley
06/08/23 at 05:20:46

I’ve got a few of the modified Kawasaki 25T front pulleys ready to ship.
Modified pulley, 2 button head stainless Allen screws, and a new lock tab.
This will lower your highway revs and make the bike sound more relaxed.
There is enough room in the adjuster to move the wheel forward and have adequate belt slack.
Really terrific write-up somewhere in the tech section.
Basically, remove the original front pulley, do a little grinding, and install the new stuff. Anti-seize on the splines, Loctite on the threads, torque the big honking nut, adjust the belt, and put the cover back on.
Not much more than that.
$160 with shipping in the USA.
Shoot me a note with questions.
Thanks,
Armen
For some reason, I can’t post a pic. Maybe I have to dumb down the size.
I’ll try again later.

Daves write up says stock is 23 tooth & the Kawa pulley is 25. I have one lying on my desk in front of me, I just counted the teeth and its 25 for sure.

I like the idea of lowering the final drive ratio to get the cruising rpms down a bit.  I’m guessing this doesn’t terribly affect grunt/acceleration, but obviously impacted.

So this bigger Kawasaki 25T pulley actually fits?  It seems there is barely enough clearance for the stock pulley and belt.

I can check the tech section, but where does the “grinding” need to be done?  I’m sure I can do some serious damage with a grinder!   :'(   Undecided

Can someone confirm the rear pulley is 68T?

Stock:  68/23 = 2.96
Kawasaki:  68/25 = 2.72

If 68T is correct, it’s about an 8.1% reduction.

Yup, still available.
Yup, about 8% reduction.
I have a bunch of Kawi pulleys vapor blasted and ready to machine. Honestly, I haven’t done any lately because no one asked for one.
I can twiddle in today if you want.
LMK
Thanks

Thanks Armen.  I’m still in the “think about it” stage.  I need to read up on the grinding involved.  I also don’t do a lot of highway riding and I like my low end grunt.  I may not be a good prospect.

I'd like to buy one of these Kawasaki pulleys. I can't message yet, 'cause I'm new here. Please message me if you have one to sell. Smiley

PM sent!
Since you’ll have a bunch of stuff off, I highly recommend the DBM invented modified LH rear axle spacer. You’ll need to get the double-wide bearing.
