Yes, I was looking a a dealers demonstrator the other day.

The F100 is getting brakes finished hopefully bleed brakes this week. Cab is gutted , driver door removed , gutted and getting renewed. Goal to finish brakes , renew both doors , front & rear windows and interior. Seat and armrests for door are done , installing new seatbelts(wasn’t even an option in 1955). Come next spring I’ll be driving her full time. Cheaper to register & insure , no smog needed and do all my own maintenance. It’s true whatever might be saved will be spent on fuel (V8). She is basically stock with a pcv system added , not a museum piece, not a hot rod , just an off the farm pick up.
Half Pint is back on the workbench , it’s in progress ! Current build should top the previous , that’s a tall order. A 50 year old BSA 250 top my tracker build IDK about that. We will see what I can come up with.

I will be bleeding & adjusting brakes on Double Ugly sometime Saturday. Always prefer to let it do most of the work on its own , gravity will bleed each wheel long before I get at it. Clutch linkages outta wack , replaced rear motor/trans mounts and everything is good again. Drivers door is in progress and waiting on some parts. Trying to collect the parts for passenger door too now that I know what is needed. First door is tough , second door usually a breeze. Cleaning and insulating cab with closed cell foam that won’t hold any moisture. More for noise reduction than thermal but it might help. Help it sound less like an old steel garbage can with doors.
Also cleaning up triple clamps , removing & smoothing casting ridges before going to powder coaters for Half Pint , oooh it’s gonna roll soon. Maybe take a short break from the truck    

So much for the brake lights , gone in a wisp of blue smoke ! Glad I bought a new headlight switch , where power for brake lights comes from. I was going to swap it out anyways , looks easy , especially with drivers door off. Dome light is hilarious , open the door or use switch then count one one thousand , two one thousand and sometimes three then light slowly lights up. Corroded/dirty connection , really don’t want to fix it , it adds character to the old girl. I have nearly everything done under truck in time for bad weather. Then it’s all stand up work , all in the cab and doors and glass/mirrors.  And safety improvement of seatbelts and maybe a 3rd brake light.

Looking like I will finish drivers door , bees trying to find a winter hive sight in cab, not gonna happen !  I know I said no modern technology on this build , but I have strayed from that a tiny bit. She is still a 6 volt system , 6 volt jump starters  near impossible to find , so instead I’m installing a small 6 volt solar panel as a trickle charger  , switched so it can be turned off. In the land of abundant sun she will always have a topped off charge. Mounting it on top of the tool box (bed box) between access doors. Almost out of sight and just behind it will go a beehive glass lense 3rd brake light of 50s era , an old turn signal or marker light from a commercial truck. It looks cool too.
After that my cell phone and Bluetooth speaker will be only modern technology. Cell phone for calling AAA road service & Bluetooth speaker for some music , truck has no radio. Passenger door will get done in the spring time. So if all the planets line up maybe I’ll be driving her this year !  

It would Be real nice to have a bigger shop , big enough for the F100 and my bikes. Multiple work benches , currently only have the one bench. It cover the trucks the bikes and guitars too and whatever house project the wife can throw at me. I would be happy with a dedicated space for guitar work. Got a guitar build going for a friend , coming along just fine. Some get sold , some get donated to high school students in need , some I build for fun and it keeps my guitar skills on point. It’s my other hobby one of many. Still assembling drivers door and installing seat on the F100 and cleaning garage for the winter blitz to build the 250 / Half Pint.
