I’m real close to it being a roller ,  that gets me excited ! Over a year , it should have been done or a lot closer to completion anyways. Still needs seat recovered , tank polished and my personal fav of all new Lucas wiring. The days are growing longer , spring like conditions , a false spring for sure.  No doubt whatever it is that drives me to build is slowly returning. It’s just what I do !

A made in England seat cover with edge trim and BSA logo in gold. A nice seat for bad hips. It will go out to be deconstructed , then I will straighten bent seat pan and get it powder coated. Then back for assembly. The seat was a big part of the decision to build the bike. Seat looks big for the bike but that was the style back then and I’m ok with it and my butt gives it 2 thumbs up. No rush for the seat , do it closer to completion. Still have lots to do , at the very least , 1 bolt a day !

Did a quick polish job on the aluminum tank. That is the only part I’m gonna hit with an electric buffer & polish. Everything else is hand cleaned with Simple Green. Most of the patina is gone leaving a nicely aged bike , but have no fear , patina cleaned not removed , it will slowly reappear as time goes on. A step back in time , in a sense part of my going up. Besides the grips & tires & peg rubbers , nothing has been changed. A Time Machine right down to the points. Ooh shocks n stuff gettin delivered today , gonna burn some midnight oil. The roller will emerge tomorrow and greet her first dose of sunlight in 21 years. How cool is that !   Cool

Today I ordered and paid for this. All I have to do now is wait and sort out the shipping. When it arrives I will remove the flashers and replace the stainless fasteners with brass ones. It has the features that I like. 24 HP flat head engine rather than the OHV 32 HP.    Full width hubs, gun mount and ammo boxes. And it's in the right color Smiley

Still anxiously waiting on his call , I’m sure he is playing me too , making me sweat it. He knows I can’t even negotiate , or he will shutdown. He knows I can’t get what he has anywhere else. Walking on thin ice  is better than treading in cold water , so I’ll be patient and wait for his call , bite my tongue and see if it pays off. I know this game , I’m just not comfortable with the shoe being on his foot !
Failure is not an option , patience is a virtue , I will Win !

No change of plans, I have paid of the sidecar for the Savage, and I expect the shipping process to start in about two weeks.

The CJ will take about three months before it's shipped, as I asked them to make several modifications.

Somewhere there is a box with a few select parts put aside for Half Pint. Original carb , tank mount & other BSA tid bits. So todays quest is to start in the warehouse and find said box or am I going crazy ? Not a big box so it could be anywhere. However I found my collection of Amal jets , needles , slides & gaskets. Oooh , test n tune stuff , I love a perfectly jetted carb , who doesn’t. Also , the headlight and electrical box are MIA too! Get it all in one stack of boxes. If it ain’t up in the warehouse , then it turns into a garage cleaning day as well. Coffee and a hot cinnamon roll and get after it !
Maybe later if the sun is shining I’ll grab the Tracker and go get some peace of mind , some therapeutic seat time , gather up all the calm along the way and return with nothing but a clear mind and a huge smile ! Yes my neighbors still hate me.    Grin

Hey, you started this post 3/26/23.  Maybe 3/26/25 is a good target date so you can ride in April!  Two year anniversary.  Congrats on the one of the longest actively living threads in the Cafe!

Was and still am working on my BSA 500 Vintage TT/Flat tracker in the beginning of this thread. My Half Pint project came home 12/2023  and I was ill for 5-6 months in 2024 , Half Pint a BSA 250. So I am behind on all ongoing projects 3 motorcycles & a truck. I ride every chance  I get , hoping to finish  2 bikes this year and start drive my ol 55 f100 this year too. F100 will be a never ending project , a tinker-toy I can drive.
