Classic Me

I mounted my Dunlop 130/90-15 today.  It went on quite easily, similar to what I remember from mounting rear tires.  I mentioned in another thread my bad encounter with a 150/80-15, and I punted on that one. I only had one side on, and that was not fun to peel off before I mounted the new tire.  Anyway, rusty as I am, I didn't have the bike raised quite high enough and scratched the rear sprocket quite well struggling to get the rear wheel on.  It's so fun trying to get the slot on the rear brake caliper to line up with the frame.  I raised the bike up a bit and got everything together only to discover I had both belt adjusters on backwards (index marks on the inside).   Smiley

Not a big deal.....leave the adjusters alone and just measure the distance from the swing arm pivot to the axle.  That is a more accurate way to get the alignment correct anyhow.  The belt doesn't need adjustment between tire changes.......as they just don't stretch.

Thanks for the tip.  I took it apart anyway and flipped them, because I can't stand when I don't put something together right.

Oil change today.  Gassy "oil" gushed out like water and made a mess in the garage.  I didn't expect this, but I should expect the unexpected. Smiley  I bought a bike that mostly sat for years.  I just ordered the Raptor.  I hope the last guy didn't wreck the carb somehow.  I'm not filling with the new oil until I install the Raptor.

A couple of adjusters?  You've got it good!

"Classic Me" is accidentally mounting a directional tire in the wrong direction!  Seems like I do it once every 8-10 tire mounts.  Lucky for me, most of those tires were on mountain bikes.  haha

Getting the direction wrong sounds like something I'd do.  I triple checked that little detail.
