Mods for longevity and performance - noob question

Hey all. I just got a 2011 S40 with a RYCA kit on it, and I'm LOVING this bike. From what I've been reading, to keep this bike running as long and as smoothly as possible, I should:

1) Install genuine Raptor petcock

2) Verslavey(sp) cam chain adjuster

How involved in the chain adjuster install? How much does it cost? Any others things I should do to head off any future problems?

At some point, I may consider some performance upgrades, as long as they don't decrease reliability or lifespan. Being a RYCA kit, my bike already has a pod filter and open exhaust. Going from easiest to hardest, it seems like my options are:

1) jet kit

2) larger carb (36mm mikuni?)

3) high compression (pop top) pistons

4) bore kit w/ high compression pistons

5) stage 3 cam

Am I missing anything?

Any advice for a noob is appreciated. Thanks!

Some not significant, some more so. There's no free lunch - if you want to make more power, you are going to generate more heat...and heat is the enemy of longevity.

If you have any experience and can tighten a bolt w/out twisting it off, then you're good to go.

Tanx I traded two RC cars (Maxx & Xmaxx with extras) for a 96' CBR600F3. I then traded the CBR for the S40 RYCA. So basically $1500 more or less (the cost of the RC cars). Here's a pic:

I’d do the double-wide rear pulley bearing. And the Kawi front pulley. With all the performance mods you are talking about, you’ll need more brakes. And handling. Trouble: Started right up fine and idled this morning, but tons of severe missing, popping, stumbling at 1/4 to FULL throttle over 15mph. Halfway decent at 5500 and 4000 RPMs after a while. About 60 degrees and humid out. Did this for about 15 miles. Very rough and unpleasant. Started it back up after DR appointment, and it's back to normal.

Thoughts?
