Low Speed cut out?
08/12/22 at 13:38:22

I installed the VM36 carb and it's been working great except for occasionally the engine shuts down when heavy deaccelerating. For instance, slowing down for a switchback. I do have a Biker's Choice Tachometer installed and working great.  The idle, at least on the tach reads between 1100-1300. If I run turn the idle up to where it reads 1500, it doesn't seem to have the problem. I'm guessing the tach is reading a little high. After its been ridden awhile it tends to read about 500 rpm's higher.

So, with the needle bouncing between 1500-1900 rpms works fine. 1300-1500, intermittent shutdowns on deacceleration. Is my tach just read a little high or is my idle off? I read that the spec idle is 1300 and below 1000 the oil pump does not activate.

the stock carb has a decel air valve that allows more air when decel'g.
you'll need to do that manually with that carb.
