The outer edge of the rotor is not part of the swept area of the brake pads. The size of that ridge is showing you how worn the rotor is. You need to get the rotor thickness measured. If it's Not worn beyond specs, it's daggum close. If you can't get it measured, slapping a new one on can't be a mistake. I'm pretty sure those bolts have Loctite on them. The Blue, medium strength is what the factory used. If you don't have any and can't find any to buy, holler at Row. He has enough to soak his nuts in once a month.
If both sides are equally worn,I can't believe that rotor isn't worn past specifications.
IDK what the factory is afraid might happen if the rotor is worn too thin, except it doesn't dissipate heat well enough and it fades under heavy use, and/or if you had been using the front brake hard and went through some water that splashes it, cooling it quickly and warping it.

IDK what happened to my first reply, but I can't find it.

I have upgraded to the big brake kit, I have my stock rotor and caliper with ~3k on it, and the brake pads with ~500 miles on them, I can sell them to you, send me a PM.

I'm still recovering from back surgery. IDK if I will be able to ride. And I'm pretty sure I have enough Stuff to build two savages, except for the forks.
Thanks for the offer, though.
