Why must petcock be “genuine” Yamaha?
01/20/22 at 19:23:36

Hi.

When doing the Raptor Petcock mod, why must the part be genuine Yamaha as opposed to a knock-off?  Is the diameter different on the nipple or something?

Thanks kindly.

The fuel line diameter is super skinny on the Chinese knockoffs. They can't satisfy the fuel flow needs.

Also make sure it's a Raptor 650 pet, not a Raptor 350.
Shorter stalk interferes with tank, and smaller output on those too.

Serowbot, it's a Raptor 660 petcock you should have bought

I once bought a replica from amazon, looked identical but did not work on reserve, not enough gas flow

Flow issues you say?  At my age I have personal flow issues to contend with. Wink

Thank you, Buster, for reminding me. I don't have to pee every two hours while the sun is up.

On reserve, when you are outta gas, there is no reserve left.
You graduate to pedestrian, immediately.
