suzuki boulevard wont start
12/08/21 at 23:22:44

hey guys, sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section but i am having an issue with my 2006 suzuki boulevard s40.

one day it started and ran fine and i let it sit for a couple weeks and it wont crank.

battery has been trickle charged.  starter has been jumped to positive and makes noise so starter motor good.  I'm thinking a ground maybe?  any common issues or places to start looking?

I definitely think its electrical because of the sudden onset and i can hear the relay fuse click when i try to start (replaced relay still wont start)

any help greatly appreciated!

Have the battery load tested. It sounds like it doesn’t have the current to start the bike.

What is the voltage at the terminals?

Without the battery installed in the bike, the video was useless.

Voltage Under Load is the mark.
Just because it's been being charged doesn't mean anything.
How old is it?
Does it need water?
And if it tests at 12.5+ at rest ,what is it wheyou hit the start button?
A battree can go tits up with no warning.
If you hook up a cheap
Float Charger it might not stop charging regardless of battery voltage. It can cook the water off.

If the battree is not in the bike
If it is open and you can add water, check it. Distilled water. Squeeze bulb, don't flood it or wash crap in.
Use your voltmeter, charge it, see what it does. If it looks promising, take it to be tested.
If it's not pretty new, especially if you don't Know its history, I'd be putting a new quality battree in it.
That is something I just Do with used stuff. Walking Sux!

If it was running ok and then sits for 2 weeks then won't start... most likely your battery is on it's last legs.

So check the water, clean the terminals including where the cable is attached to the engine.  Then charge it overnite.  If it's still doing the same, then get it tested.  Or learn to push start it.
