06 suzuki s40 transmission/clutch issues?? Need he
10/11/21 at 16:12:08

Hey so I'm a noob when it comes to motorcycles and I recently bought a 2006 suzuki s40. The issue that I'm having with it is that it does it began to like not be able to pick up speed after 3rd gear. Then it stopped moving. I called a friend and he told me that the clutch wasn't engaging and he loosened up the clutch cable all the way and the bike worked for a min but then it gave out by the time I got to the stop sign. It doesn't turn off it will just idle. Even when I let go of the clutch it'll just idle in gear. It'll Rev. But it won't go. I replaced the clutch. Watched a YouTube video on how to do it. Was able to take it around the corner but then when I got close to the house it began to lose speed. It was picking anymore. Then I'm back to where I started. At first it used to wanna creep when I would attempt to turn it on. After it came on it wouldn't move. I'd let go of the clutch bit it would just idle while in 1st gear. I can move up the gears and it won't turn off when I let go of the clutch. So I'm stuck. Would yall know what to do or what else to check? I Adjusted the clutch the best I could. So its kinda in the middle of the lines and it's got some slack up on the handle. But it still won't go when I let go of the clutch nor will it cut off. It just idles.

It's hard to believe that you burnt out 2 clutches in a short time.
I'd have to believe that what was worn out wasn't what you replaced.

I'd start with measuring what you replaced to see if those are still within wear limits.

The drive belt or the forward pulley is like worn. Get your eyes on it.

The drive belt is in good shape. However, I'm not entirely sure how to tell if the pulley is worn out. Any advice?

the outside is likely fine, it's the splines on the inside.
remove the nut and lockwasher and take look, it will be obvious.
