Scrapped today's ride !

Jumped on the bike, hit the starter and nada!
No headlight or horn. All other lights OK.
Tach took 1 sweep and quit. 2 fuses OK.
Put 12v aross the headlight and it works!
Jeez, I hate wiring! Any ideas?
Cheers!  Cool

Have you checked the voltage in the battery?

AGM batteries can go from good to gone in an instant.....and without warning.

voltage was 12.5 after the incident. I keep a NOCO in the garage and a C-tek at home.
Earlier in the week the NOCO was taking a longer time and never went to 'green'. I took the battery home and it took a long time to get 3 lights, finally went to 5 lights, last one 'green'.
If I can get back to normal, I'll take the battery home after a ride and use the C-tek.
Because of the traffic I usually only go riding once a week. No biggie. Thanks for the tip, sounds like the old 'wetcells' weren't so bad after all, usually got 3 years from them.
Cheers!  Cool

Put the battery 2 days on the C-tek, put it back in and restarted---start button stuck on and tach remained stuck at 2000. Lubed the start button, removed the tach and BINGO, back to normal.  Will put it on the street tomorrow.
So, why did start button stick? what happened to the (ryca) tach?
Cheers!  Cool

The tach was a electrical glitch. Now the start button , I think you were overly excited to ride and smashed that button in till it stuck.

I have to assume you have hit it a few times already ! Try unplugging it for a minute then plug it in turn it on and hit it few more times.

Well, back to normal without knowing what caused it. Broke tach, stuck start button, battery?
Anyway, back on the road. Thanks for suggestions.
Cheers!  Cool
