5 Pole Relay needed with M Unit wiring?
03/19/21 at 20:22:25
Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum, and had a quick question.
I'm re-wiring using an M-Unit. Do I need one of those 5 Pole relays wired in between the M-Unit and the CDI? Or can I just run the kill switch directly to the CDI?
The relay can be found here:
https://shop.revivalcycles.com/waterproof-relay/
Does anyone have the correct wire positions into the CDI for a 2002?
Does the CDI need constant 12 V power when the key is on? Any other M-Unit wiring advice / experience would be helpful. Thanks!

When I did my M-Unit I just fed the CDI from the unit. No relay.
I have the earlier M. Pretty simple. I used micro switches on the handlebars and the M-Button. That made it easier than trying to make the stock switches work.

In theory, theory and reality are the same. In reality, they aren't...
