Looks like the big guns are finally investing.

 Amazon and Gates, along with others have taken interest in Turntide Motors.

 Back in 2012 or 13 I invested in them due to the Rare Earth mineral issue.  These motors do not use them, unlike all of the modern EV engines I see, or at least are aware of today.  Given the dependency on China for so many of the RE components in modern electric motors I would prefer a software driven one.

 My understanding is these are to be mostly used in buildings initially, but I can't imagine they won't end up in vehicles at some point.

 Anything that reduces drain on the system and dependency on another nation I am for.
