That whole "graphics" section on Reuters is actually pretty interesting.

Try living in it , was almost ten weeks of smoke and ash. I’m blaming all that smoke for the passing of my dog. He stayed inside with air purifiers running 24/7 , he was almost 14 and was fine until all the fires
California used to be a great place to live , now it’s full of garbage and pollution, I guess that why our taxes are high. A crappy place to live !

Yeah, I lived in San Diego up until '95.  We've got bad air from fires here in Colorado, too.  Can't get away from it.  That red dot is the sun.

That looks like a beautiful clear day. Some days it was 1/2 mile visibility at ground level and raining ash everyday for six weeks then took another month to clear out. Couldn’t be outside for long before it affects breathing.
The worst I’ve ever seen it. It better now but we need some rain to help our hero firefighters , way over a million acres , thousand of homes , I have no idea how many deaths.

2020 really SUCKS !

Texas, on the same planet, same sun, etc.  Plenty of trees,,
Oddly, no wildfires..
Ohhh, but we treat our forests like things men should manage, not like some unknowable God, just letting dead wood stand, diseased wood spread disease and scrub to build up..

But people are free to believe there are no common sense actions that would mitigate the fires..
It's global warming, it's 2020, but it's Not idiotic policy and arson.
Ohhh, no.. could not be
