Won’t start issue,.

new battery, on a tender, full headlight power.  After the bike sits for a few days she won’t crank over when I push the run.  All safeties check out ok.  If I hold the run button down for 20-30 seconds it will then engage the starter and turn the engine over a few times then stop.  After doing this numerous times till bike is warm she will generally fire up and run great.  If I turn her off warm she will still wait 4-5 seconds after run is pushed before firing the starter. But eventually cranks and starts the bike.

Now,  wait a day, come out to a cold bike and it all happens again.

I haven’t got out the multimeter yet but I’m thinking since it has something to do with the bike being cold or warm it must be electrical in the starter relay or rectifier?

Any help is appreciated.

Charge the battery and get it running.

Disconect the battery and let it set for a couple days.

Reconect the battery and see if it will start.

If the battery holds a charge while disconected, but not while it is conected, something is drawing power while it is off. You may have a bare wire somewhere.
(You are turning the key the right way when you turn it off? If you turn the key the wrong way it's on ''park'' leaving the tailight on and will kill the battery.)

Have the battery load tested first. That will eliminate the most common problem. Batteries can charge and show proper voltage and still be bad...not able to handle the load required to start the engine.

Check for loose connections at battery, starter, starter relay and grounds. After that check for a parasitic draw on the battery. You can find and fix it and you will understand your bike better and you might learn a few things along the way. Do not hesitate to ask questions !

One other thing to check is the decompression solenoid.

Summer heat evaporates the gas in the bowl.
Start on prime.
If no joy
A whiff of ether in the intake.
Shoot it under the seat, towards the intake snorkel.
Crappy float chargers cook off the battery water.
