Minor frustration!

Wanted to change the color on my bike, to Black with copper highlights. Changed my  mind after I saw the copper.  Sanded, primed, painted over. Primer and new color came off in a sheet. Zero adhesion to copper.
Finally had to power sand ALL of the copper off and reprime. Another hour I'll never get back! Rats!  Angry

I feel your pain.......painting can be really frustrating, and it seems there are always new ways to screw up!

I painted some flexible body panels for under the rockers on my Safari Van in 1990.  This was before I knew about the base/coat clear coat paints, and I used an enamel with a flex additive.  The color was just a little bit off and it looked bad.  I had the paint store fix the color match, scuffed up the first coat - then resprayed them.  The new paint caused the other coat to wrinkle and ruin both coats!

Paint stripper, re-prime and repaint was required to get it fixed!

Sometimes we just have to learn the hard way!

I do everything at least twice, sometimes 3 times. I want to be extra sure that I know how I don't want things to turn out so I can sleep good at night not wondering about all those "well...what if..." things.

You just tested your theory and have the answers you need to make it perfect.  Cool
