Better seat
07/22/20 at 11:41:14

I would love to find a better seat than the bike came with.
When you are in the late seventies 1 hour on it and it start getting uncomfortable.
Hopefully there is one that is relatively ease to mount!
I have seen several pictures from members with other seats.
Please provide me with some info.

I just had my stock seat have new high-quality foam put in it at MeanCityCycles in Maiden NC...They are reputable and quite well known.
Cost me just $105.  Of course if you live far away you have to pay shipping two ways plus the fee for the work.  They have many options to choose from

Thanks, this gives me an idea and found some local shops who do this.
You have a very good deal, hopefully I find something like it, shipping cost will make it much more expensive, but I will contact them to compare cost.
Thanks again
Ps: Have you tried your seat yet and is it much better?

You might want to try an Airhawk pad......for long distance riders these are very common.  They should be inflated to a very low amount of air to make them the most comfortable.

Sheepskin covers are also beneficial.

Not to hijack the thread, but I've been kept off my bike a lot in July just for the heat we've had in Denver.  The sun at altitude is brutal for cranking up the heat when you're sitting in traffic.  When I'm moving, it's fine except for the swamp a$$ and the heat inside my black full face helmet.  I figure I can get a sheepskin to help with the southern hemisphere, but I won't ride without a helmet on my 20+ mile commute in crazy Denver traffic.  How do y'all stay cool?

Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun. Smiley

I ride in the early morning cause I can and don't have to go out in the heat.
Riding gear is not negotiable.

"I wear a half helmet when it is hot, it is so much cooler!"

I'd never do that in the nightmare Denver traffic.

Riding in temperatures above 90, dry heat or not sucks At one time I drove through Boston at 100+ I thought I was going to pass out!
Nice to be retired you can pick the best time of the day.

Guys and girls I started this topic looking for a better seat. I had some inputs but someone  Angry changed the topic to riding in hot weather.
So anyone who can provide info on a better seat (that is easy to mount) I will welcome that.
Thanks
