Question about side covers
09/12/20 at 20:15:14
Are the side covers for the ls650's all the same? I know left and right side differ, but will any year fit another year?
Specifically, I have a 2008 and am wondering what model years I can use to replace the missing left side cover.
Side question...why are right sides so easy to find and left sides are almost like unicorns?

I think they are all the same. My 2011 was missing the left side and I bought an older Savage cover on EBay and it fit. I think the left side covers fall off or are lost because you’re right they are hard to find and expensive

Picture of side cover. One thing I had to do was fix the bracket that holds the side cover because it was broken. That may be why the cover was lost.

I am keeping my eye on one from a 1996 and am hoping it will fit my 08.
Seems weird that the left sides seem to fall off so much more frequently.

It should fit. The one in my pic is probably same era. I looked at pictures when I bought it and they all look the same. It should have the S40 emblem but haven’t found one yet

Why are the left side harder to find? Because there is only one screw holding it on as opposed to the right which has two, so twice as likely that the left will fall off and be lost.

I have one from a 96 if you want it.
