We only have one television and a very basic cable subscription. My wife tends to get some PBS drama show on just about the time I want to watch some TV to wind down before I go to bed.......so I hit YouTube instead.

A while back I was watching shows on the Land Speed Record cars past and present - really cool stuff. Going 100 - 200 is pretty basic stuff and just needs some power. If you want to go up toward 400 mph you need to get streamlining and a lot of power....and a big crew and lots of money - 437 mph is the record for a wheel driven piston engine vehicle. For the 600 mph and up club you need major dollars and major crews and jet and/or rocket engines - the current record is 763 mph.

I also watch the Asian Scooter Crash videos, and a fellow who can dismantle automatic transmissions and describe the failures in his sleep, motorcycle reviews by FortNine, and a lot of videos on folks just screwing up and hurting themselves!

I thought this air compressor that uses a river was Genius!

The air, under pressure, in the pocket below ground is tapped off by a 24 inch diameter steel pipe and brought to the surface. Here it passes into a valve house and is distributed to the mines of Cobalt.

The air is transported to the mines via a seamless pipe, imported from Germany, specific to this project. There is a total of 21 miles of seamless pipe used for the movement of air to the various mines.

I'm gonna Hafta hunt that stuff down..
