M Unit, M switches, new throttle control?
05/13/20 at 16:14:22

So I'm waaaay into the point of no return on my cafe conversion. I picked up a motogadget M Unit to do the rewire, and am on the fence about grabbing a couple of M Switches to replace the stock controls and really clean up the front end.

BUT, the stock start/kill switches integrated into the throttle are big and bulky and if I'm going to do this, it would be silly to leave them there, add an M Switch and now have controls that don't do anything.

Soooo, I guess the question is, has anyone put an aftermarket throttle control on your Savage?  Every step of this project introduces a head-scratcher I didn't anticipate.

I did, not that hard actually but it's probably going to require making new throttle cables. If you're already going the route of an M.unit, I would spring for micro switches and really tidy up the front end. I used 2 motone 3 buttons for mine.

Did the gadget. Found a push/pull throttle on Ebay. using the micro switches. Low bars. Conventional looking master cylinder.

In theory, theory and reality are the same. In reality, they aren't...
