Shows and movies

Been watching shows and movies at night with Mrs Web. Here’s some recommendations.

Shows:
Ozark. As a Missourian and only 90 miles away from where this supposedly takes place, we have to watch it! It’s in our backyard. The actual house and  lake where most of those scenes are shot are actually in Georgia, but they do use locations at the actual Lake of the Ozarks Missouri to film some scenes and we recognize all of those. (Don’t confuse Lake of the Ozarks with Branson Missouri. Those are two different places.) But it’s a very good show, very good plot and very good acting. It’s not Breaking Bad great, but it’s pretty good. Worth it.

After Life with Ricky Gervais. First season was excellent, second season starting next week.

Movies: We’re trying to watch all the Academy Award nominated movies.

JoJo Rabbit.  I think this is my favorite one so far. Very entertaining.

1917.  The cinematography will blow you away. The entire movie you may be thinking “how did they do that“

Joker. Disturbing movie. I think you’ll realize halfway through it that your heart rate has been elevated for the past 60 minutes. Don’t think of this as a Batman precursor.

Once upon a Time in Hollywood.  It’s been growing on me. Since most of you guys on here are probably my age, some of the historical references will be very entertaining. It’s a good movie. Oscar quality? No I don’t think so but absolutely worth watching.

Little Woman. Great acting. I mean you have to have great acting to make a movie that’s been done about 1 million times but it’s worth watching.

Marriage Story.  Again, very good acting, surprisingly good. Oscar worthy? No I don’t think so. But it’s a good movie.

The Irishman.  Casino, Goodfellas, and a few episodes of The Sopranos  all rolled  into a movie. If you liked those movies, you’ll like this. If you didn’t, you won’t.

We’ve not seen Ford v Ferrari or the actual winner Parasite.

South Korea,... wins best picture,... and got the handle on Covid19...  Only 11,000 cases and 240 deaths...
Not bad...

Parasite was not at all what I was expecting... it was good fun.

PS Web,... If you're a Scarlett fan,... check out "Love song for Bobby Long" from 2004.
Beautiful film...
Every shot is frameable and musical score is excellent.

Very good movie. If you’ve not heard anything about it, don’t look it up. Just  watch it
