Here is a side by side of the new and old UFO versions.
It is easily noticeable visually but a less so when handling them together.  However, it is enough to make a significant change in carb setup.

Still can’t pull the photo and put it here.

Got a final for the 36 VM.
Needle jet #159-Q-2
Pilot jet     #17.5
Needle clip. 2nd groove
Main jet     #185
Pilot screw 1.25 turns out

UFO, DAJ & QFTW installed

The needle clip may need to go in the 3rd groove for some.  With this setup it ran very well, smooth idle to 6500 and good power, but was close to the lean side.  I did not get any backfires but my exhaust works really well in that regard.  Others may need to richen a bit to compensate.

38 VM w/ UFO, DAJ, QFTW

Needle jet. 166 Q-0
Needle clip  3rd groove
Pilot jet.   #17.5
Main jet.    #185

Engine runs well, is pretty strong throughout with little hesitation transitioning from low to high range.   This is a good setting from which to fine tune to your machine.

Just to be clear, the jetting listed above is for a 36 or 38VM with the UFO, DAJ and QFTW.
That said, if you don’t have a DAJ your main jet would change from these numbers.  Before installing the DAJ you need to know the main jet size for your carb on your engine, then based upon that reduce by 3 sizes and install and adjust based upon road testing.  So if your main just without a DAJ is 195, then with a DAJ you would use 190-185-180..

Thanks Lancer.  The jetting info should be helpful.  So those needle jets you listed, did you do anything to them like drill a hole in the hood, or did you install them right out of the box?

Just install those slick little virgin needle jets as they come.😎

I have 3 important questions...1) what needle are you using? you havee the needle jet size listed but not the needle. and 2) how would you adjust this set up for 6000 ft altitude? what is your dial a jet setting? im not sure im happy with my overall setup. thinking of trying this set up in high altitude. hoping your on a lean dial a jet setting so i could adjust for altitude by leaning out dial a jet from where you have it.

stock needle for 36 VM
DAJ has a 180 deg. range of motion, 90 left (lean) and 90 right (rich).  Looking as if a clock, 9-10-11-12-1-2-3, 12 being neutral setting.  Mine is set on 2 o’clock.  Main and pilot jets as listed.
Adjust main jet size according to the normal jet size/1000 ‘ altitude change.  My brain is sluggish right now.
Is it 1500’ change requires a 1 size main jet reduction ?

Someone with a functioning brain will chime in.  😐

I just received as a "return to sender" the Jetset I sent you.
It was addressed to:
Zack
Millersville

What is the correct address ?

...............

When you say "missing a DAJ" do you mean how is the carb jetted without a DAJ ?  If so, the recommended main jet with a DAJ is 3 sizes smaller than without.
If that is not what you were getting at then lets try again.   Smiley
