I don't know if anyone asked this or not I couldn't
find the subject on site, but why would my bike a
2007 s40 with a Dana muffler, no carb mods, stock
size tires. It has been getting about 60 mpg + or -
2 or 3, lately it's half that. What give? tire pressure's
good, engine is strong and sounds good. I'm 6'1",
215lbs the bike will do 85+ flat & level and pull a
pretty steep hill out of the canyon I live in at 70mph.
A friend of mine said it could be a gasoline issue.
Could gasoline be the issue? Any help Is appreciated.

abbalootly, also if you have a leaky float valve, it'll do the same thing if you also have a leaky petcock as well.
And depending on how you park, gas can be either in the case or the airbox.
Check the carb for a leaking bowl gasket

I checked the air filter this morning thinking it
might be to dirty, but it was a lot cleaner than
I expected, tapped it on concrete and little dirt
and a little plant & bug stuff come out, held it
up to the sun and it looked almost lake new.
The air box was dry with dust/dirt at bottom
that's it. Bike is parked on level ground under
my patio.

Somebody's siphoning your gas at night...
