Headlight LED swap?
01/02/20 at 16:02:08

so today I received this LED headlamp I thought was gonna connect to the Bike cause I saw it had an adapter but little did I know it wasn't the right one. so given with the pictures I have supplied of my headlamps innerwiring the LED headlamp wiring and harness. is there a way I can purchase a different adapter that might work? or can I just start snipping wires and tying them together and covering them with some caps?

Yep, the connector is not compatible. I would suggest soliderless connectors over caps. Caps are for home wiring, not for vehicles. You could use butt connectors or a male/female. I’d use the m/f with opposite gendering on the hi and low, and a unique one for the ground. If you want to get fancy you can de-pin the LED and re-pin it for the OEM harness. I have a link (on my computer...on my phone now) for OEM motorcycle connectors if you are interested.

Yea id be happy to take a look at the OEM connectors you have archived.
what kind of connector is it that comes with the Suzuki anyway its soo small and the sockets for it are turned vertically so it seems like a lot of ones I've been looking at won't even fit because the prongs on the new ones lay horizontally while the Suzuki receiving socket has its ports turned vertically for the prongs.  Undecided

That headlight is the H4 type connection headlights have been using for cars and motorcycles for years.  No sense for a company selling a universal headlight to put a special connection on it.

Im sure you can buy an adapter, it just might get tight in there for space.

This one looks similar, but you would have to check if its the same.

Your Savage should have a short section of wire harness that has the H4 connector on one end , and a 3 prong connector that attaches to the white connector you photographed in your headlight bucket.

This is one of the best LED's for the Savage, as the driver is internal and it is pretty compact, it doesn't need adapters, and it works well with the rubber seal.

Dave is correct, there should be an adapter harness on your OEM reflector housing.

If you ever need a connector, here's your source. They even have pinning tools.

Thank you both so much for the useful information I really appreciate it.
As I was scrolling around reading through some old posts I had seen again I realized I could detach the plug directly from the bulb and that had a n H4 female connector that fit directly with the LED 3 prong plug and I attached it to the bike and it worked the only thing is the bucket housing just can’t fit the significantly larger LED lamp so I ordered a larger bucket. This is definitely a more expensive way than the LED you linked me too and more cumbersome but I’m confident it’ll work out in the end and if not I now at least have a back up plan! The LED I purchased does have the turn signal indicators in it I just have to wire them
Correctly to work. Now if only I could get the headlight wiring schematics that aren’t blurred by photobucket  Grin Angry

so I set up the LED Headlight.

Before

After:

Now I'm just trying to figure how to connect this blue wire to the mint wire coming from the bike so the halo and turn signals work.. do I splice the two cables and just wrap them together? any ideas?

So what you need is an adapter that has a female blade connector on one end, and can splice into a bullet connector on the other end?

I can make an adapter for you - but I need a better photo of what the mint bullet connector end looks like (my eyes are not good enough to understand why the bullet connector is bent).

The mint green wire is the right front turn signal......the dark gray wire should be for the running lights.
