Muffler Installation Problems
07/12/19 at 12:24:17

Ok, got my adaptor from Ryca for the Dyna swap on the muffler. But Im stumped.

Adaptor:
Short end (header side) ID 42.5mm, OD 45mm
Long  end (muffler side) ID 42mm, OD 44.5mm

Header Pipe: OD 42.82mm
Muffler: ID 44mm, OD 47.8mm

So once I trim the header pipe the short side will fit fine (with nice chrome adaptor on the outside of the joint)

BUT the Muffler side does NOT fit inside the adapter. If I  widen the muffler end, I could probley smash the adaptor into it. (chrome on the inside).

OR

do I need to cut slits into the muffler end and smash them inside of the adaptor?

I don't want to ruin a muffler.

Also does anyone have a closeup picture, or a how to post?

The muffler should fit over the RYCA adapter......take the muffler and the adapter to a muffler shop, and let them expand the muffler with their machinery until it slips on.

So adaptor goes over the header pipe and inside the muffler.  Correct?

got it on, sounds great, a few more backfires then normal, so I gotta check to make sure I've got proper seals on everything, but other then that running great!

More backfires probably means you have less restricted flow. A quick tune up in the carb should fix this. If you have the stock air filter you may just need to turn the air/fuel mix screw a bit.
