Quote: That is a lot of money to go winter camping, trash up a mountain with your spent oxygen bottles and waste - and risk your life in the process!
Yep. The tallest mountain on the planet, a true natural wonder, has been turned into a very expensive, very dangerous theme park.
Biological material takes forever to decompose in the cold, dry, oxygen depleted, atmosphere near the top. There are bodies along the route to the summit that have been there for years. They are just trail markers now. Surrounding the high altitude camps are vast fields of frozen human turds that will be there for many many years.
When Edmund Hillary was the first to reach the summit it meant something. For the 300th or three thousandth or whatever, not so much.
